2 Refer to the instructions

in chapter 3 (parallel and

serial), chapter 4 (Ethernet),

or chapter 5 (Macintosh) to

connect your printer.

3 Plug the power cord

into the connector

on the left side of the

printer.

»Note:

In compliance with UL

guidelines, “The appliance

inlet is considered to be the

main disconnect device.”

4 Turn the printer on.

After a brief warmup (less than

five minutes), the printer pro-

duces a startup page.

If a startup page doesn’t print, see chapter 8 “Troubleshooting

Printer Problems” in the

Operation

manual.

If you see this... It’s probably

because...

Do this...

Colors aren’t

registering

properly.

The OPC drum

cartridge is not pushed

all the way in.

Repeat the steps in “Install the

OPC Drum Cartridge” on page

2-19.


